Rotate

Rotate

The Rotations tool is specially trained to take a image of a character and generate 8 rotational views: West, East, South, North, North-West, North-East, South-East, South-West. and to change view points from high top-down, top-down to sidescroller and vice versa.

The tool is meant to aid the user in creating rotations for your characters that can be used when creating animations for different directions.

Accepted canvas sizes are 128x128, 64x64, 32x32 and 16x16. It is recommended to have a canvas size that is best fit for the character/object you wish to rotate.

Recommended workflow:

  1. Use an existing reference image where the character is looking in the south (frontal / down) direction.
  2. Generate a few rotation and pick the easiest to fix.
  3. Do very rough manual fixes.
  4. Generate new frames using the roughly fixed frames as init images. Use inpainting to freeze the parts that you do not want changed.
  5. Repeat from 3 and gradually increase the init image strength as you get closer to what you want.
